Privacy Policy

Summary

LinProfi has two modes. The Chrome extension is local only: it stores your jobs in your browser and sends nothing to us. A free LinProfi account syncs your data to your private space in the cloud, so you can use the web dashboard, curated matches, and the document builders. The paid Pro subscription only unlocks the AI tools on top. Your data syncs only if you create an account and sign in.

What we collect

Without an account, nothing on our side. The extension reads job details from the job board pages you visit and stores them locally in your own browser.

There is no analytics SDK, no error-reporting service, and no third-party script in the extension. You can verify this in DevTools Network.

If you create an account, we store the data you sync (your tracked jobs, documents, and the profile you fill in), your email address for sign-in, and, if you subscribe to Pro, your subscription status for billing.

If you enable a public resume or cover-letter link, we count anonymous views and clicks on Print / Save PDF. For up to 90 days we retain the time, country, device, browser, operating-system family, and referring domain. We do not store the visitor's raw IP address or full user-agent string.

What stays on your device

Job titles, company names, job posting URLs, apply URLs, your notes, statuses, priorities, follow-up and interview dates, and timestamps. All of it stays in your own browser on your device.

LinProfi account (optional cloud)

The cloud features need an account, and the account is free. We sign you in with a one-time email link, so we store your email address. Your tracked jobs and profile sync to our database so the web dashboard and your other devices stay in step.

Payments for the Pro subscription are handled by Stripe, and we never see your card details. Sign-in emails are sent through Resend. Files you upload are stored in our object storage and tied to your account.

Visibility to companies is on by default for your role fields so the right teams can find you. Only the fields you pick are shared with hiring teams, and your name, notes, private saved jobs, and uploaded files are never published. Turn it off and your profile leaves the search index.

You can export everything and delete your account at any time. Email us and we remove your cloud data.

Permissions explained

Page access for the job boards LinProfi supports: https://www.linkedin.com/*, https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/*, https://join.com/*, https://www.join.com/*, https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/*, and https://job-boards.eu.greenhouse.io/*. This lets the content script read the job posting on a page you visit there. It does not run on other job boards or general browsing sites.

host permission for https://app.linprofi.com/* so the extension can sync with your account when you are signed in.

storage so saved jobs persist across browser sessions on your device.

tabs so the dashboard opens in a new tab when you click the extension icon.

alarms so the extension can refresh your synced jobs in the background on a schedule.

Sharing

Without an account there is nothing to share, because your data never leaves your machine. With an account, candidate visibility is on by default for your role fields so hiring teams can find you, limited to exactly the fields you choose, never your name, email, notes, or files, and you can switch it off any time on your profile page.

You can also create an unlisted public link for a saved resume or cover letter. Anyone with that URL can see the complete document, including contact details and photos you placed in it. You can permanently revoke the URL at any time. Anonymous link analytics are shown only to the document owner, use a per-link pseudonymous visitor identifier for approximate unique counts, and are deleted after 90 days.

Website analytics

This marketing website (linprofi.com) uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand which pages are useful. They run in consent mode: analytics cookies are not granted until you accept the cookie notice, and you can decline. We do not run ads and we do not share this data for advertising. This is separate from the extension, which still ships no analytics.

Children

LinProfi is a productivity tool for adults managing a job search. It is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version replaces this page and the publication date updates with it.
